Happy Hump Day

I am a happy girl this Wednesday. Why? Well, for several reasons...

I received this adorable green blouse in the mail today for my sweet mama. I have been patiently waiting for its arrival. It's from my favorite online boutique in San Antonio. I know it is just a shirt....but clothes just make me excited. Yep, they sure do. And I have been seeing all these cute ways to wear a bright green blouse on Pinterest.

The possibilities for this top is really endless...

Tonight on So You Think You Can Dance (My favorite summer show) they announced the top 20! Yesssss. I have been waiting for this for weeks. The audition episodes are fun in all, but I am ready for the show to really start!

Shane has been working super hard on redoing our backyard & when I got home from work today he had laid new grass! WE HAVE GRASS!! I don't know who is more excited, me or the dogs.

I am ending my day laying in bed with my pups and enjoying a late night strawberry-banana smoothie. Yum

Hope your hump day was as good as mine was! :)

Pinterest Plans for the Weekend

I love Pinterest, I mean who doesn't? But I have had some serious bad luck with it. I have tried to do some of the recipes I find on there, or recreate some DIY projects, but nothing has come out quite as good as it looks on Pinterest. BUT I am not giving up just yet...

This weekend I will be trying all of these things that were found on Pinterest. Some are little projects that won't take much time at all and some are bigger ones that might be more of a week project. But they are all things I have been wanting to try for a while and though I don't have the best track record with Pinterest, I am giving it one more try!

....well maybe it won't be my last try at a Pinterest creation. But I will seriously be discouraged if I have more failed attempts and I might be forced to go on a little sabbatical from it.

#1 - Paint our guest room dresser this color. I have been thinking/talking about doing this for ages now. I've just been too lazy to get to it! Well, it's time to get this going. I at least need to go find the paint and buy the materials to do this. That would at least be a step in the right direction..

#2 - Buy a wrap bracelet. It does not have to be this one per say...but I am in love with this new jewelry trend and I don't know what has taken me so long to jump on the bandwagon and purchase one. Love them.

#3 - Paint my nails this color. Yes, this EXACT color. Why this exact one you might ask? Well for one, I love it. And for two, because it is called St. Lucia Lilac. And you see, our honeymoon was in St. Lucia so of course I like anything that has that in it's name  :)

#4 - Cook this Crock pot Chicken Tortilla Chili. Because I need to use my crockpot more and because it just looks so tasty!

#5 - Possibly make these cookies for Shane. They are sugarless, eggless, flourless and butterless. How you can make a cookie without those four things is beyond me. I don't know how this will work and it might be a huge failure. BUT what if they happen to be amazing? And this is the secret recipe to an actual healthy cookie? Wouldn't that just be wonderful? We could actually eat a cookie without feeling guilty.... YESSSSS.

#6 - Learn to do a fishtail braid. Wearing my hair down and curly is getting old. I need something different to do. So I am determined to make this happen. Will it probably look terrible on me? Yes. But that's okay, I just want to try.something.new.

#7 - Organzine my scarfs. Oh my goodness, this has been a LONG time coming. And why it has taken me so long to do this? I don't know. But the chaos of scarfs is about to end. NOW. So thankful.

Oh, and I need to fold the massive mound of laundry I have and clean my house. But that is boring stuff. Looks like I have a fun/long weekend ahead of me :)

Bachelorette Watch Party

So it's no secret that I am a little obsessed with all things Bachelor/Bachelorette. I have been watching for years! Shane refuses to watch it with me, SO I am forced to have a watch party with some of my girlfriends. Okay maybe forced isn't a good word. I personally LOVE watching with them. Probably enjoy watching it with them over Shane any day because Shane makes fun of it the whole time. And I love having my girl time! This week we watched at my house and I was bound and determined to make a yummy cheese and cracker plate. I mean who doesn't enjoy some wine, cheese and crackers and girl time?

Now for my thoughts on the guys this season...

Sean is by far my favorite. He is a Texas boy, a Christian and seemingly the whole package. How could she not pick him?

I like a few of the other guys, but none of them do it for me as much as Sean does! I am totally Team Sean!

Now, if you watched last season of the Bachelor and need a good laugh....(well actually you don't even have to like the show to think these are funny).......watch these two videos. I know these videos are old, but they are hilarious! I just love Ellen...

Pool Days

Summertime = Pooltime = Happiness

But seriously. Is there anything better than time at the pool with a yummy pina colada in your hand reading a book and the smell of sunscreen in the air? Yeah, I didn't think so...

Recap of May and June

Wewwwwh.....life has been busy. As usual. Even though I hardly have time to write in this blog, I wouldn't change a thing about our crazy life! SO many good and fun things have beening going on lately. So I can't complain! So here is my recap...

May 19 - My niece Kate's very first dance recital. Oh.my.goodness. Words can't even describe how precious she was. I wish I would have taken a video, because pictures don't really do it justice. She was just adorable. And she loved being on stage, which is pretty impressive for a 4 year old to not being nervous on stage!

May 27 - Shane has been wanting to go to a Rangers game for a while. And since he was on a little break from firefighter classes, we decided this would be the best time to go to one! We went with my sister Marci and her husband Scott since & it just so happened to be their 6 year wedding anniversary that day. Thanks for spending part of your anniversary with us :)

June 1-3 - One my best friends/roommates from college, Amy's bachelorette was this weekend. We got a little condo on the Comal river and had the best time!

June 15-16 - Was Amy and Brian's wedding weekend! It feels like just yesterday these two were getting engaged. Their wedding was perfect and so "them." I love their love story and how they met at church camp when they were little. So sweet! Amy has been one of my roommates since Freshman year in college and I can honestly say the whole time we have been friends, I knew Brian was the one for her. I wish y'all all the happiness in the world and hope y'all have an amazing honeymoon in Antigua!!

......and I'm done ! :) It may be a busy life, but it's a good one!
