Home Sweet Home

Whenever I first came into Shane's house (my soon to be house) I will admitt I was a bit worried. At the time it wasn't the cleaniest place. It was a bachelor pad afterall. And there were many things in the house that needed some updating. Like the kitchen. It even had the same mustard yellow appliances from when it was first built back in the day. But luckily I have one of the handiest husbands ever. He and his family put in new tile. Yes, you heard me right. SHANE put in the tile. He is amazing. I told you he was handy! He also painted, put in new countertops and new appliances in the kitchen. We did hire someone to redo the cabinets. With a little updating, cleaning and decorating our little house had been transformed! I just wish I had some before pictures so you can see the difference! But here it is....our humble abode.

Dining Room

New and improved kitchen! Probably my favorite room of the house!

 The living room

Master Bedroom

Spare Bedroom #1

 Those curtains cover the closet

Spare bedroom #2 ... This room is still somewhat bare. But it is better than nothing!

Our cute little porch! I love this!

I love our house for many reasons. One because I feel that is it very "homie." But the thing that I love the most about it, is that it is OUR home.

I love my life.

I'm BACK!!

So it dawned on me today....I HAVE A BLOG.

Kidding, I didn't forget my precious blog. Well, maybe I sorta did. The truth is I have be so consumed with my wonderful life I have not found the time to update this thing. I guess that is a pretty good excuse right? The more time that passed the more I realized how long of a post this is going to have to be cover everything that has been going on and that gave me anxiety so I have been putting it off....till now! So here is my life update of the last 4 months.

January and February were filled with lots of Sing Song practices and wedding shower extravaganzas. My roommate, Rachel was the director of our club act for Sing Song and two of my other roommates, Kylah and Amy did the costumes. So you can just imagine how crazy our house was. But it was well worth it. We were popcorn and let me just tell you....our show just really "popped" :) Pun intended. Seriously though. It was amazing. Rachel couldn't have done a better job and did I mention we WON? Yeah, that was pretty sweet too.

and if you would like to see the video of our act...here it is:

My wonderful shower in San Antonio.

February was an especially good month for my roomie Rachel. She and Bailey got engaged!!

My wedding shower in Abilene!

My Lingerie shower that my sweet friends threw for me!

My sister Marci threw my Bachelorette weekend in Dallas!

And On March 13, 2011 I became the happiest girl in the world when I married my best friend. Our wedding day could not of been more perfect. The weather was beautiful, the plantation house was beautiful and we were surrounded by wonderful people. I couldn't have asked for a more amazing day!

Then we were off to our Honeymoon in the fabulous St. Lucia! It was absolutely amazing! Every time I think about it I just want to be back there! Hopefully someday we can go back :)

Shortly after we returned to the real world in Abilene, I ran my first 5k. Okay, I know for most runners this seems like nothing, but for someone who is just getting into the running thing, it was a BIG deal! I loved running the 5k and hope to run more soon, and maybe... MAYBE someday I will run a half-marathon? We'll see....

I hosted my very first shower, Erin's Lingerie shower! This made me feel like a grown up! haha

For Easter we went camping with the Haught family. Such a fun and relaxing weekend!

At the end of April, one of my other roomies Amy got engaged! Love has just been in the air :)

And just this past weekend, I graduated from ACU! Wow, never thought I'd see the day! But really, I think it is finally starting to hit me that I am done with school..forever. It's very surreal.

Wow, so it has been a crazy and incredible last 4 months. No wonder I have not been able to keep up with this. Now, on to the next part of my life! This past week I recieved a call that offered me the position of being the Nutrionist for the bean at ACU.  I am so excited for this! Not only is it a REAL job, but it is a job in my field! I am not sure when I will be starting, we are still working out the logistics. But I feel so blessed to be given this opportunity.

Hopefully now I will have more time to keep up with this!

until next time, xoxoxo
