Week 19

This last week has been a fun one! Since finding out that our little one is a sweet little boy, I have been in complete baby buying mode! I haven't necessarily bought lots of things, but the planning for what we want and will buy is in full force. I have been on Pinterest far more in the last week than I have been in probably months. I have been searching through baby bedding, strollers, travel systems and all that fun stuff like nobody's business! I think I have picked out pretty much all the essentials. I told ya I was planner! Last Saturday Shane and I headed to Kids Village (a local kids boutique) to check out baby furniture. We had heard they were having a sale and I mean who doesn't like a good sale? I figured we would probably just be looking or ordering something that would take months to get to us. To my surprise we found the perfect bedroom set that was big time on Sale. It was actually the display that they were selling. So that meant it would be coming to our home in a WEEK! We had always planned to paint Hutton's room BEFORE the furniture would arrive, so that meant we would be painting that weekend. Everything is happening way faster than I expected! But, I can't complain...because I am really loving how real things are becoming! :-) I will be posting pictures of the furniture once it comes in.

As I was browsing the web for different decor ideas for Hutton's room, I came across a wooden sign that I really loved. We could buy it on Etsy for a decent price and I was certain I would be buying one in the near future. I showed it to Shane and he too loved it. Well, Wednesday night after dinner Shane headed to the garage and had been in there for quite some time when I finally started getting curious what he was up to in there. I find him making this adorable sign that looks very similar to the sign I found on Etsy....but even more CUTE! Shane had found these old fence posts in the alley and whipped this up! Man, I love having a handy husband! :-) I love the sign and especially love that Shane made it for little Hut!

How far along?: 19 weeks, 2 days

Baby is the size of a: Mango. About 6.5 inches and 10 oz.

Development this week: Hutton (I just love saying his name!) is working on his five senses. Nerve cells for his sense of taste, hearing, sight and smell are developing in his brain.

Best moment this week: Shane surprising me with the adorable sign! Painting Hutton's room, getting cute little boy clothes from friends family and picking out his crib/furniture!

Food cravings: So through this whole pregnancy I really have not much of any cravings. But I finally have one..one I am not proud of. BUT I don't want them all the time, just occasionally. Hot cheetos. I know, I know. Terrible. I have never really liked them before, but one day I had them on my mind. So I tried some. I have only had them twice though. Keeping it at a minimum!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!

Symptoms: Feeling good, but it is starting to get uncomfortable to sit for long periods of times.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Still happy and still very...emotional.

Looking forward to: Hutton's furniture coming in next week! And having the Anatomy scan/sonogram done in a week. Can't wait to see Hutton and see how is growing!

It's a ......

Boy!! Baby H is a sweet little baby boy! And he has a name! No more it or he/she.

So let me start out explaining this last week and if you remember correctly from my last post, we weren't suppose to find out the gender of Baby H till Feb. 4. Well, last Friday night I really started getting impatient. Technically, most people can find out the gender from 16 weeks-20 weeks. Some even before that! I was almost 18 weeks and just feeling really anxious to find out if we were having a boy or girl. I like to plan things out and I am dying to start buying all things baby and starting creating the nusery. So knowing that I could technically already know what we were having, but having to wait till almost 21 weeks..was KILLING me. So on Monday Shane, being the sweet husband he is, called a private sonogram place here in Abilene to see if they could get us in sooner than our Appointment we had with the doctor on the 4th. He called and told me they could get me in NEXT Wednesday (Jan. 23rd). That was pretty close to my already scheduled appointment, but it was still sooner. So we decided we would do it. He also added in that because he called and made this appointment that in return I had to make him some really yummy chili for dinner that night. I agreed and was so excited to be a little closer to knowing what our little one was! He then called back the sonogram place to confirm the appointment. I got a call from him not much after and he said "So are you still planning to make me chili tonight?" I said yes...and he said "Well it better be extra good because I got them to move up your appointment to THIS Wednesday (Jan. 16). I was so stinkin excited! So excited that I barely slept the next two nights.

Wednesday finally came and I was an anxious mess all day long. Our appointment wasn't till 6:00pm. Talk about torture! I shouldn't have even gone to work. My mind was defintely not there. It was finally time for the appointment and one it began, we very quickly found out that our little one was a boy. It was pretty funny. When the tech started she immedately saw that it was a boy and quickly tried to move the probe away so we wouldn't see it right away. I knew something was up. Then she said "Man, he just doesn't want to stay still does he!" We immediately said "You just said he!" And she said "Yeah, it's pretty obvious it's a boy!" haha. We are so excited to be having a boy. I truly believe that God knows what we need and that he wanted me to be a mom to a little boy. He was just the cutest little wiggle worm on the screen. I am always in awe of God, but seeing our little boy and his sweet heart just a beating away really shows what a mighty God we serve.

Now for the name. Hutton Allan Haught. Our sweet little Hutton. Shane and I decided a while back that we liked H names. I really don't know why. It just seemed like every H name we liked and we felt sounded good with our last name. I feel like Hutton just fits us and I totally did the "call out the babies name" test. I for sure could imagine myself calling for Hutton. I just love the way it sounds! Allan because it is Shane's middle name and his dad's name. It was just fitting for our first born son to have the same middle name has his dad :)

We are feeling more blessed than ever and really can't wait for June to be here. Hutton, you are already so loved and have already brought us so much joy and you aren't even here yet! We can't wait to meet you!

Week 16

I had been worried that my bump wasn't growing as fast as it should be. I even asked my sister if this was normal. The worrier in me was coming out! Literally two days after asking her, I woke up to a much bigger bump. Crazy. Okay, I know it still isn't big...but it's bigger than it was ;-)

How far along?: 16 Weeks .. close to 17 weeks

Baby is the size of a: Avocado

Development this week: Baby H is now listening to our voices thanks to the tiny bones forming in it's ears. He/she is growing hair, lashes and eyebrows. And he/she are forming taste buds!

Best moment this week: Getting our Snugabunny sleeper in the mail! I love it!

Food cravings: Still don't have specific cravings, but after spending the weekend in New York, I would really love to have another NY hotdog or pizza ;-)

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope! Thank goodness

Symptoms: Feeling good for the majority of the time, but starting to get uncomfortable after sitting for long periods of time.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and emotional! haha

Looking forward to: February 4, when we find out if Baby Haught is a mister or a misses!
